Fundación MÁS

Manuela Echeverri believes that childhood is the most beautiful gift we have in life, and everything we learn during that stage nourishes our entire adult life.

The story behind Fundación MÁS began about 11 years ago, when Manuela started working with the community of La Boquilla, a fishing village with Afro-Caribbean roots located in the northernmost point of Cartagena. What began as a small initiative to promote education through artistic and creative activities for about 10 to 15 children has grown to a space where children receive love and support through art.

Today, around 150 children are part of Manuela’s foundation, with 60 to 70 children attending daily. They receive snacks and lunch, participate in art and English classes, and enjoy dance and drum lessons.

There are many ways to make an impact, and Manuela hopes that this pilot transformation project to continues to grow and bring development and prosperity to other communities across Colombia. Starting with education for children.
